John L. Dunbar died Saturday in Ivins, Utah, where he lived with his son, Calvin and Wendy Dunbar.

Born June 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Marie Johnston Dunbar.

He attended Callery School and was a 1948 graduate of Evans City High School.

He worked for Peoples Gas and retired in 1986.

He married Doloris Vogel and lived in Valencia with their daughter, Beverly, and son, Calvin.

After retiring, John and his wife, Dot, moved to Las Vegas. His wife preceded him in death in 2005.

He is survived by his daughter, Beverly (Eric) Chanin of Miami Fla.; and his son, Calvin (Wendy) of Ivins, Utah. Also surviving are his brothers, Chester (Mary) Dunbar of Zelienople and Grant, James (Pat) and Lawrence (Lucy), all of Evans City; and sisters Katherine (Oran) Leonberg of Cranberry Township and Doris McDonald of Mars.

A sister, Sara Kennedy, and a brother, Clifford Dunbar, preceded him in death.
