Michael James Devore Jr.
Michael James Devore Jr., 57 of Cranberry Road, Grove City, died Friday at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Devore was born Nov. 29, 1952, in Butler to Michael James Devore Sr. and Martha Goldie Ross.
He married Pamela Maureen Yobst on Sept. 28, 2006, and was a loving husband and father.
Devore graduated in 1970 from Slippery Rock High School. He was employed at A.K. Steel in Butler.
He enjoyed quad riding, hunting, fishing, traveling and was an avid worker. Mike loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
He was a member of the American Legion and was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela; one son, Michael James Devore III of Slippery Rock; one daughter, Shannon Leigh Devore of Harrisville; three stepdaughters, Heather (Christopher) Mattson of Grove City, Nicole Heimann of Butler and Kaitlin Perrine at home; and four sisters, Jane (Richard) Campbell of Chicora, Shirley (Anthony) Heitzer of Butler, Linda (Charles) Gibson of Butler and Nancy Burns of Butler.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Brittany and Hailey Mattson and Kylie Workman; his mother-in-law, Martha Yobst; and three brothers-in-law, Jay and Kim Yobst of Butler, Kevin Yobst of Mercer, and Lon and Jayne Yobst of Butler.
<B>Devore </B>— Visitation for Michael James Devore Jr., who died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Findley Cemetery in Mercer.
