Grenci

Juneabelle E. "Jinx" Grenci, 85, formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, in Oceanside, Calif.

She was born May 13, 1924, in West Sunbury.

After she completed high school by the end of 11th grade, she worked for the Armco Steel Corp. in Butler for three years during World War II.

She met her husband while working at the Hot Dog Shop in Butler.

Jinx was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church before she moved to Oceanside in 1979, where she became a member of the Mission San Luis Rey Parish.

For the majority of her life she was a homemaker, but when she moved to California, she became a baby-sitter for the families of disabled children through The Arc of San Diego.

Jinx was very outgoing, friendly, caring, thoughtful and compassionate. She loved to cook, bake, baby-sit, play bingo and go to casinos.

Jinx was preceded in death by her parents, Ignatius and Fannie Rudolph; five brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert "Bob" Grenci; sons, Robert "Bobby" Grenci of San Diego, Louis "Lou" Grenci of La Quinta, Calif., Michael "Mike" Grenci of New Castle and Daniel "Dan" Grenci of San Diego; a daughter, Theresa Lambert of Oceanside; a grandson, Brenden Lambert of Long Beach, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Keelin Lambert of Oceanside.

<B>GRENCI</B> — A private Mass and interment for Juneabelle E. "Jinx" Grenci, who died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, will be celebrated at the Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, Calif.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in memory of Juneabelle E. "Jinx" Grenci to the Silverado Hospice of San Diego, 335 Saxony Road, Encinitas, CA 92024, or to the Oceanside Elks Lodge 1561, 444 Country Club Lane, Oceanside, CA 92054.
