Julia 'Pat' Wiles

Julia I. "Pat" Patrick Wiles, 76, of West Sunbury passed away Thursday at the Chicora Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Mohegan, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Riley Patrick and Julia Blanchett Patrick.

She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Pensacola, Fla., and Washington, D.C. as a photographer's assistant.

She also was a homemaker and a member of the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, going to flea markets and doing arts and crafts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Timothy Wiles and his wife, JoAlison, of Butler; one daughter, Julie A. Wiles of Butler; three grandchildren, Jessica Wiles of Yonkers, N.Y., and Taylor Wiles and Colin Wiles, both of Butler; three sisters, Clara Jean (Ray) Stringer of Dayton, Ohio, Virginia Maynard of Dayton, Ohio, and Gail Shelton of Richland, Va.; one brother, Marcus R. Patrick of Brookville, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Enie Hottel of Parker and Ellen Felix of Grove City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. "Joe" Wiles, who died Aug. 2, 1999; one sister, June Olsen; and one brother, Jack Patrick.

<B>WILES</B> — Friends of Julia I. "Pat" Patrick Wiles, who died Thursday, March 11, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert V. Mathias, retired Presbyterian minister, officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's disease Research Center, 200 Lothrop St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213-2536.
