Howard Goehring

Howard Goehring, 85, of East Palestine, Ohio, died Monday.

He was born June 7, 1924, in Fombell and was raised and lived on a dairy farm in Fombell until 1961.

From 1961 to 1988, he worked for the borough of Zelienople.

Once he retired in 1988, he moved with his wife to East Palestine, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Goehring.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Bonnie Leek and her husband, Bill Leek; a daughter, Beverly Perry; a son, Tom Goehring; as well as his sister, Alberta McElwain. Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Brian Perry, Michelle Perry-Ellis, Danielle Goehring, Ken Goehring Jr. and Daniel Goehring. He also has six great-grandchildren.

<B>GOEHRING</B> — The body of Howard Goehring, who died Monday, March 22, 2010, was donated to Case Western University for the purpose of scientific research which will further the study of causes for Alzheimer's disease.Friends and family will be received throughout the week at his home in East Palestine.Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation to honor Howard.
