MURRYSVILLE — Doctors say a 17-year-old student who was among the most critically injured in a high school stabbing rampage continues to improve after undergoing another surgery.

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center said Sunday that the surgery went well. It didn't mention the student by name, but said he's still listed in critical condition.

Spokesman Rick Pietzak said it was the student's fourth and last scheduled surgery.

Jared Boger, 17, is among four students still hospitalized following Wednesday's attack at Franklin Regional High School. He's at UPMC Presbyterian, while three others are in critical condition at Forbes Hospital.

Alex Hribal, 16, faces four counts of attempted homicide and 21 counts of aggravated assault in the attack. The school will resume classes Wednesday and teachers were to return to work today.

ERIE — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a college student.Erie County’s deputy coroner called the shooting of 23-year-old Abram Sorek a “horrible and very unfortunate accident.”Authorities said Sorek was shot in the head with a hand gun, Deputy Coroner Dennis Suscheck said the wound wasn’t self-inflicted. Sorek was a student at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. He was in an Erie home with four friends at the time of the early Saturday morning shooting.Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers said investigators don’t have all the details. He said there was no confrontation, dispute or argument that preceded the shooting.District Attorney Jack Daneri said he expects to decide whether to file charges within a week.
