Police: Man struck co-worker, threatened him with knife
An Allegheny County man was arrested after police say he struck a co-worker and threatened the victim with a pocket knife Friday at a business on Route 8.
Stephen L. Roberts, 37, of Natrona Heights is facing felony assault and other charges in the incident that left the victim with minor injuries.
Penn Township police said they were called about 4 p.m. to JK Hydraulics for a disturbance. Officers found the victim, who had scratches on both sides of his neck. They described him as “panting” and “very worked up.”
He told the officers that Roberts had attacked him after they had gotten into an argument. Roberts is accused of hitting the victim in the head and face.
During the altercation, police said, the victim recounted that the suspect pulled a knife and pointed it at him.
Roberts had driven away by the time police arrived. Police spoke to three other employees who saw the altercation, and they all confirmed that Roberts was the aggressor.
Two of those other workers also told police that they heard the victim yell “he has a knife,” during the incident.
District Judge Wayne Seibel arraigned Roberts on a felony charge of aggravated assault, a misdemeanor charge of simple assault and a summary charge of harassment.
Roberts is free on $5,000 bond. It was not known if he has an attorney, and he could not be reached for comment.
