Gerald "Jerry" P. Smith, 57, of Conemaugh Township, Indiana County, died Thursday in his home.

Born Oct. 19, 1951, in Greensburg, he was the son the late Pete and Christine (Roth) Smith.

He had lived in Conemaugh Township for the past 20 years and was employed by Winchester Industries in Saltsburg for 25 years.

An avid hunter, Jerry was a member of the C&Y Sportsmen's Club and also enjoyed playing bingo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Smith, and his sister-in-law, Joan Smith.

Survivors include four sons, Jason (Jody) Smith of Butler, Jeremy Smith of Harrisville, Eric (Stacy) Smith of Mt. Pleasant and Randy (Tanya) Smith of Rural Valley; 10 grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Jared, Ethan, Natalie, Courtney, Landan, Jessalynn, Collin and Reid Smith; a brother, Joseph (Regina) Smith of Latrobe; three sisters, Mary Anne (Ron) Kinsey of Latrobe, Margaret (Keith) Thompson of Youngstown and Betty (Tom) Lipyance of Greensburg; and his best friend, Andy (Serena) Heckman of Indiana, Pa.

<B>SMITH</B>— At the request of the family of Gerald "Jerry" P. Smith, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, there will be no public visitation.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the <B>CURRAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES</B>, 701 Salt Street, Saltsburg. The Rev. Salvatore Lamendola will preside.
