CRANBERRY TWP — A new mixed-use retail center that will include an Aldi Foods discount grocery store at the intersection of Route 19 and Ogle View Road has got the final go-ahead on its revised plans.

The township supervisors Thursday evening approved final plans for Cranberry Promenade, a shopping plaza that will include 47,938 square feet of retail space and 170,720 square feet of office space on nine acres.

The project in 2006 received preliminary and conditional use approvals. Then in late 2007 it was given what was thought to be its final approval with construction to follow.

But the project has been delayed because of road access issues, which took until recently to be resolved.

The interior of the development will feature a Main Street design with a central park area surrounded by one- and two-story shops and tree-lined streets. The buildings are required to have similar architecture.

The developer, Warren Pacific Properties of Sturgis, Mich., will be required to build traffic turning lanes at the intersection of Route 19, Ogle View and Rowan roads.
