James Spack

James Spack, formerly of Meridian, died unexpectedly Sept. 2 at his home in Federal Way, Wash.

Jim, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Butler, Dec. 25, 1943, the son of Peter and Ruth (Sloan) Spack.

He graduated from Butler High School in 1961 and attended Westminster College. He graduated from Highline Community College, Federal Way, with an associate degree in computer information systems and was employed there until his retirement in June of this year.

Jim also served with the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant in air traffic control with tours of duty in Vietnam and Korea.

Jim attended the Southminster Presbyterian Church and sang in its choir.

He was known for his love of music and sang in high school and college choirs, various plays and community choruses.

He is survived by his mother; a sister, Cheryl (John) Buoni of Boardman, Ohio; nephews, Drew and Wayne; and a niece, Susan (Chris) Santell.

<B>SPACK </B>— Cremation arrangements for James Spack, who died Friday Sept. 2, 2011, were handled by <B>Bonney-Watson </B>funeral home, SeaTac, Wash. Pastor Stephen Franklin of Meridian United Presbyterian Church officiated at the private memorial service. Interment was at Mount Nebo Cemetery.
