Douglas Ritzert

Douglas Ritzert, 74, of Evans City, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025.

He was born in Grove City on July 28, 1951, son of the late George and Twila (Fehl) Ritzert.

Douglas graduated from Seneca Valley High School and was employed at PennDOT, as a heavy equipment truck driver, for 35 years until his retirement.

He was known for being a great husband, father, friend and extremely hardworking. Douglas was always someone who had to be busy; he enjoyed hunting, running machines and working on local farms. He was a social member of the Veterans Club of Forest County.

Douglas was the beloved husband of Bonnie (Flint) Ritzert, since their marriage on March 2, 1973; and brother of Marlene (Wayne) Bird. He is also survived by his niece, Emily; nephew, Wayne (Bayleigh) Bird; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jason Ritzert.

The family would like to thank VNA Hospice, Hillman Care Center and a special thanks to Ron and Dave for taking such great care of Douglas.

RITZERT — All arrangements for Douglas Ritzert, who died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, were made through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at The Berean Bible Chapel, 206 Connoquenessing Main St., Connoquenessing.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Children’s.
