Spencer D. Geibel Funeral Home looks to build new accessory building
BUTLER TWP — Spencer D. Geibel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is looking to expand its facilities on New Castle Road with a new accessory storage building.
The Butler Township Planning Commission voted unanimously Tuesday evening, July 7, to recommend the building for final approval.
Mike Ogin with Gateway Engineers presented the proposed 3,200 square foot building to the commission. He said the plans involve the building as well as a gravel road connecting the current lot to it.
“It won’t be open to the public and there will be no employees in there. It’s just for his personal maintenance equipment and storage of materials for the business,” Ogin explained to the commission.
Ogin said they are looking to begin work after meeting requirements in the letter from LSSE — the township’s alternate engineer — and receiving final approval from the township’s board of commissioners at its next meeting on July 20. He said the hope is to finish construction within the year.
