Dorothy E. Hilliard, 84, died Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center, where she had been a resident for the past three years.

Born Jan. 17, 1924, in Chipee, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Eleanor (Baker) Rauschenbach.

She was a homemaker and had worked as a sales clerk for the former Gaylord's Department Store in Butler. She was a member of the Tri-State Country Music Association and had enjoyed playing the organ.

Surviving are two sons, Howard J. Hilliard Jr. of Elyria, Ohio, and Douglas E. Hilliard of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Sandra Duncan of Renfrew and Shirley Hilliard (Mrs. Charles Mustake) of Negley, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Howard J. Hilliard, who she married March 23, 1944, died Oct. 31, 2005. She also was preceded in death by two sisters.

<B>Hilliard </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Dorothy E. Hilliard, who died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Patricia Sawaya, chaplain of Chicora Medical Center, will officiate.
