Gail Buzard

Buzard

Gail L. Buzard, 79, of Eau Claire, passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by her family, on Monday, June 29, 2026.

She was born June 11, 1947, and was the daughter of the late James and Sylvia Dunlap Beatty.

Gail was a graduate of Moniteau High School and later, Grove City College. She was a devoted elementary school teacher in the Moniteau School District for over 30 years.

Gail was strong, loving, stubborn and was the anchor of our family. She made sure that our traditions and family get-togethers happened. She dedicated her life to her children and her grandchildren. From baseball, football, hockey, basketball and soccer: she made sure her love and support were present at all of their events. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Jack, who passed away April 5, 2026. They made several cruises together, from the Bahamas to Alaska. Most of all, she loved the beach with her family. A week before her passing, she got to go one more time to see the ocean, feel the breeze and feel the sand between her toes. She will be so greatly missed.

She was the mother of Stephen (Sara) Buzard, of Foxburg, Christine Farrington, of Erie, and Janette (Jeff) Hensler, of Butler. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Tanner (Megan) McCall, Carter (Meghan) McCall, Peyton McCall, and his companion, Morgan, Schuyler Hensler, Lucas Hensler, Jackson Buzard and Ray Ray Buzard; and her great-granddaughter, Elowyn McCall.

She is also survived by her brother, Dean (Carol) Beatty; sister-in-law, Mary Beatty; a very special friend/team and family member, Cody (Maggie) Thompson, of Eau Claire; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Beatty; and sister, Faye Herman.

BUZARD — Private services for Gail L. Buzard, who died Monday, June 29, 2026, will be held on Saturday, July 4, at BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, Eau Claire, which is fitting, because she always wanted fireworks at her funeral.

Interment will take place at Eau Claire Cemetery.
