Butler man charged with shooting fireworks at vehicle
A Butler man assaulted one woman after he shot fireworks at the car of another woman she was with Sunday, June 28, police said.
Joshua Sean Young, 40, was charged Monday, June 29, with one misdemeanor count each of propelling a missile at a vehicle and simple assault following an incident in the 300 block of Negley Avenue.
Police said they were dispatched for a report of a fight. Police spoke with a woman who said Young and two other people were shooting fireworks at her, another woman and her car.
Police said the woman alleged she was outside her home when Young drove by and began shooting fireworks at herself and the other woman, her house and her car. Police said the woman chased Young off before he drove by a second time.
Police said Young exited his vehicle and threatened the woman when she confronted him. Young then grabbed the other woman by the hair and threw her on the ground, causing her head to strike a vehicle and her elbow to hit the pavement.
Young’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
The other individuals involved did not receive charges.
