Helen M. Shaw, 92, of Pittsburgh died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter in Butler.

Born April 9, 1916, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Frank J. and Elizabeth I. (Magorian) Kunkler.

She had worked for Gulf Oil in Pittsburgh for 10 years until her retirement in 1980.

She was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills, an avid reader, loved dogs, and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a son, Byron D. Shaw and his wife, Gale, of Pleasant Hills; two daughters, Maureen Lapinski of Moon Township and Mrs. William (Carol M.) Darney Jr. of Butler; seven grandchildren, Julie Shaw, D.J. Lapinski, Sheree Thomas, Bill Darney III, Kathy Grimm, Lisa Cupka and Daryl Darney; two step-grandchildren, Craig and Nikki Morsaint; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Byron W. Shaw, who she married in January 1939, died June 4, 1960. She also was preceded by her son-in-law, Dennis Lapinski; her brother, Frank Kunkler; and her infant sister, Rita Kunkler.

<B>SHAW</B>—<B> </B>Friends of Helen M. Shaw, who died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Glade Mills. The Rev. Daniel Maurer, pastor, will officiate.
