Route 8 crash victims identified
State police have identified the drivers and passenger injured in a head-on collision Monday on Route 8 in Brady Township.
Patricia L. Huntington, 40, of Slippery Rock and David G. Phillips, 59, of Renfrew and Phillips' passenger, Gina M. Severino, 58, also of Renfrew, were all taken to Grove City Medical Center following the crash about 5:40 a.m. in Brady Township.
Emergency crews described their injuries as “moderate.”
Police said Huntington was traveling south on Route 8 just south of Weeks Road when, for an unknown reason, her Toyota Corolla crossed the center line. The car struck Phillips' northbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
Unionville volunteer firefighters, assisted by crews from the Slippery Rock and West Sunbury fire departments, had to take off both doors of the truck and lift the dash to get Phillips and Severino out.
All three occupants were wearing seat belts, police said.
Two Butler Ambulance Service ambulances and a Slippery Rock EMS ambulance took the injured to the hospital. Both vehicles had to be towed.
Police cited Huntington for disregarding traffic lanes.
