Carl Acquaviva
Carl A. Acquaviva, 72, of Butler, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Butler on June 13, 1954, he was the son of the late Carl and Helen “Dewey” (Murrin) Acquaviva.
He was a 1976 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in English.
Carl worked at the County Assistance Office as an income maintenance supervisor. He was very active in the social committee at his office and this continued even after he retired.
Carl was known for his humor and practical jokes and loved reading, writing, the history of the British monarchy, classical music/opera, playing cards with friends and gambling at the casinos.
He is survived by his sisters, Cynthia (Acquaviva) Smith and Cathy (Acquaviva) Cygan; a niece, Calen Cygan; two nephews, Jacob Smith and Zachary Cygan; and a great-nephew, Mason Smith.
ACQUAVIVA — Family and friends of Carl A. Acquaviva, who died Monday, June 15, 2026, will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A memory service will immediately follow with a closing prayer in the funeral home.
