[naviga:h3]Fundraiser aids Alzheimer’s efforts[/naviga:h3]

Newhaven Court at Clearview will sponsor the Happy Hour Fundraiser to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.

The event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Recon Brewing, 1747 N. Main St. Ext.

Cassandra Seth will auction off art by Tom Panei and James Buckley will provide acoustic entertainment. Recon Brewing will release its Alt-Heimer’s Beer and donate 15 percent of sales to the association, according to Stephanie Steiger, director of sales and marketing at Newhaven Court at Clearview.

Additionally, the cast and crew of the award-winning play “Absence” will be introduced. The play, written by Peter M. Floyd and directed by Larry Stock, focuses on a family coping with the effects of dementia. The play will be presented by Newhaven Court at Clearview from Sept. 21 to 23 at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

[naviga:h3]Diehl helps society with pet initiative[/naviga:h3]

The Beaver County Humane Society will team up with a Butler automotive dealer to promote pet ownership during National Adoption Weekend.

The humane society and Diehl Automotive will provide pets without charge to qualified adoptees Thursday to Sunday at PetsMart locations, including the store in Cranberry Township.

“Anyone who knows me or Diehl Automotive understands how committed our dealerships are to supporting local charities and events,” said Corina Diehl, president of Diehl Automotive. “And when it comes to helping people provide homes for pets, everyone in our organization wants to help.”

The event will include dogs, cats and rabbits.

Diehl Automotive is a family owned business with multiple franchises with dealerships in Butler, Robinson Township, Moon Township, Grove City and Salem, Ohio.
