Elsie C. Blum, 93, of Sunbury Fields, formerly of Saxonburg Road, passed away Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

Born in Punxsutawney, Dec. 20, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Tomasina Gigliotti Gaetano.

She was a homemaker and she, along with her late husband, owned and operated the Miller-Mickley Printing Co. on South McKean Street. She also formerly was employed at the Spaide Shirt Factory.

She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

She enjoyed crocheting, making scrubbies and playing cards. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by one son, Edward I. "Bud" Blum and his wife, Mary Jean, of Butler; one daughter, Dianna Herold and her husband, Dale, of Butler; one brother, Ross "Ike" Gaetano of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Burke of Maryland; four grandchildren, Cheryl Gallagher of Butler, Paul E. Blum of Butler, Dale Herold of Marietta, Ga., and Danielle Lucier of Huntersville, N.C.; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Blum, who passed away Dec. 6, 1993; and one brother, Anthony "Nap" Gaetano.

<B>BLUM</B> — Friends of Elsie C. Blum, who died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. today in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
