Charles F. Szeg, 84, of Valencia, formerly of Callery and Hampton Township, passed away Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026, in Slippery Rock.

Born in McKeesport on April 20, 1942, he was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy Cornell Szeg.

He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Chuck was a catastrophic claims specialist for Nationwide Insurance in Butler. He also was co-director of an outpatient rehab facility in McKeesport.

He and his wife, Judie, were the owners Rehab Professionals located in Hampton Township, a professional and catastrophic case management firm. He also did life care planning. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Counselors Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith E. Hanna Szeg, whom he married July 20, 1983, and who died Jan. 25, 2025.

He was the father of Vance Szeg, of Zelienople; stepfather of Kevan Shaffer (fiancé, Victor Duncan), of Saltsburg, Kris Britt (Cliff), of Butler, Karolyn Barker, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jon Kilner, of Zelienople; stepgrandfather of Cheyenne Shaffer (fiancé, Matt Fellows), Jaymi Tush and Julia Tush (fiancé, Tyler Mihna); and brother of Danielle Szeg, of Porterfield, Tenn., and Kim Szeg (Debbie), of Phoenix, Ariz.

SZEG — Friends of Charles F. Szeg, who died Wednesday, June 3, 2026, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 8, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the funeral home.

Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.
