Idamae Riding
Idamae “Ida” E. Riding, 93, of Butler, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Concordia at Cabot.
She was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Butler, daughter of the late Noble Reges and Ida (Cline) Myrtle.
In her younger years, she worked at Moonlight Mushroom Farm, in Worthington. Ida was a member of the former Oneida Valley Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Ida was a big baseball fan, always watching it on television.
She is survived by daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” (Steven) Casper; and longtime friend and caregiver, Sandra Zulick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Riding, whom she married June 30, 1950, and who passed away Dec. 17, 2003; daughter, Crystal Ann Riding; brothers, Kenneth, Clarence, Noble, Howard and Melvin Reges; and sisters, Bertha Custer and Evelyn McCune.
RIDING — Family and friends of Idamae “Ida” E. Riding, who died Saturday, May 30, 2026, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, June 5, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon with Pastor Bob Edmundson officiating.
Ida will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
