Charles ‘Doug’ Fleming

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Charles Douglas “Doug” Fleming, 68, of Butler, who passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Born Sept. 24, 1957, in Butler, he was the son of Mary Ellen Schenck Fleming and the late Charles F. Fleming.

Doug was co-owner of Winters and Fleming Inc. He also previously worked for the Penn Township Road Department.

He was a member of Middlesex Presbyterian Church. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and listening to elk bugle.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Judy Lynn Powell Fleming, whom he married March 29, 1986; one daughter, Callie Gowarty and her husband, Andrew, of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; one grandson, Beau Douglas Gowarty; his mother, Mary Ellen Schenck Fleming, of Butler; his sister, Martha Fleming and her husband, Brian Noah, of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Doug was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Ann Congdon.

FLEMING — There will be no visitation for Charles Douglas “Doug” Fleming, who died Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Services will take place at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Middlesex Presbyterian Church, 116 Church Road, Butler, with the Rev. Kevin M. Bowen, pastor, officiating.
