[naviga:h3]Youth exchange applicants sought[/naviga:h3]

JACKSON TWP — Rotary clubs in the Seneca Valley School District area are offering students the opportunity to study and live in another country during the 2018-19 school year as a part of the Rotary Youth Exchange program.

The Rotary Youth Exchange program offers high school students from the United States and other countries the opportunity to visit another country during a school year.

Eligible students should be of good character and reputation; be between the ages of 15 and 18½ at time of departure; have above- average academic ability; and have a pleasant personality.

A preliminary application with a local interview is followed by final interviews in November.

Country preferences will be taken into consideration and placements will be made in January 2018.

The student’s share of expenses include a $450 youth exchange program fee, airfare, insurance and other travel costs.

The Rotary club will provide housing with host families, food, schooling and a monthly allowance. Visit www.exchangestudent.org for more information.

CRANBERRY TWP — State police will have a child safety seat inspection from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cranberry Volunteer Fire Department on Route 19.

No appointment is needed and there is no charge.
