The parade through Prospect on Saturday had dual purpose -- to recognize Memorial Day weekend and to celebrate the nation’s 250 anniversary.

The event, complete with a parade, a military ceremony and fireworks, brought more than 200 people to the borough.

Live music set the scene for Saturday while people gathered along the streets to watch the event and super heroes, including Spider-Man and Disney princesses, ventured throughout the event to greet children.
