Efforts ensure 2,200 flags fly over veterans’ graves in Butler Township this Memorial Day

BUTLER TWP — More than 2,200 flags will fly over the graves of veterans buried at the Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery this Memorial Day because of a Thursday initiative by the Butler Senior High School Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC).

Students and their commanding officer, combat veteran Maj. Richard Coleman, worked Thursday morning to ensure flags were placed at every relevant gravesite at the 380 Evans City Road location in Butler Township.
