2 killed in Summit Township crash, 1 teen seriously injured
Two people were killed in a single-vehicle crash late Saturday night, May 16, along Freeport Road in Summit Township.
State police in a public information report indicated the crash, which was reported at 10:12 p.m., involved driving under the influence. Two adults, ages 19 and 22, were killed, and a 17-year-old child sustained suspected serious injuries.
The driver, 22-year-old Skyler B. Gray of Cadogan, and one of two passengers, 19-year-old Nevaeh S. Schweinsberg of Butler, were killed in the crash. An unidentified 17-year-old female from Butler was taken by STAT Medevac helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
Police said Gray was driving a 2016 Honda Accord west along Freeport Road/Route 356, when he lost control of the vehicle. Police said the vehicle spun and went off the left side of the road before overturning and hitting a tree.
The crash report shows the 17-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle and sustained “serious injuries.”
