Armstrong County family asks for financial help after crash in Center Township
The Remaley family of Armstrong County is asking for financial help from the community in the form of a GoFundMe after five of them were involved in a two-vehicle crash in Center Township on Wednesday, May 13.
Kayleigh Remaley, along with her sister and three children, were in a white minivan traveling through Center Township when it was involved in a collision with a pickup truck. All five occupants of the minivan, plus the driver of the pickup truck, required transportation as a result of the crash, while both adults had to be removed from the minivan with cutting tools.
Remaley, who set up the fundraiser, said she broke her femur and tibia in the crash and will require multiple surgeries.
“The road ahead of me is going to be a long road.” Remaley wrote. “(My husband) Tate will be off work for a few months to care for me and our family, so he will not be receiving much of his pay during this time.”
As of Friday, May 15, the fundraiser has received $1,250 of its target of $3,500, with one anonymous donor having given $1,000 of that amount.
A separate fundraiser has been set up on mealtrain.com by Angel Steffy, with a goal of $2,500.
According to Steffy, both Kayleigh and Tate are active members of the West Shamokin Little League community.
