Janis Honse
Janis D. Petrigni Honse, 79, of Renfrew, passed away in the comfort of her home Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Born Oct. 13, 1946, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Albert “Big Slug” Petrigni and Ethel “Dukie” Dupe Petrigni.
Janis was employed in food service at Concordia at the Orchard.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, the French and Belgian Club, the Italian Society of Butler, the East Butler Fireman’s Club, the Slovak Club and American Legion Post 778.
She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and bird-watcher, and she enjoyed the outdoors.
Janis is survived by three children, Stacey Honse, of Renfrew, Atlee Honse Jr. and his wife, Sally Moore, of Charlotte, N.C., and Danielle Helch and her husband, David, of Rocky, Okla.; five grandchildren, Brandy Bauer and her husband, Dane, Brady Bandura and his wife, Natalie, Mariah Richardson and her husband, John, Macie Stepanian and her husband, Josh, and Madison Helch and her fiancé, Zach Allen; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Atlee Honse Sr., who passed away Nov. 11, 2012; and three brothers, Constantine “Connie” Petrigni, Gary Petrigni, and Ladimore “Bobo” Petrigni.
HONSE — Graveside services for Janis D. Petrigni Honse, who died Tuesday, May 5, 2026, will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Everyone attending must arrive by 10:40 a.m.
A celebration of life will be held from 1 p.m. to ? on Saturday, May 16, at the Honse residence.
