Butler man charged with DUI with 15-month-old in vehicle
A Butler man is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a 15-month-old child in the vehicle in Concord Township.
Coltin Lee Lary, 20, was charged Tuesday, May 5, by state police with two misdemeanor DUI counts and misdemeanor child endangerment following a Feb. 28 traffic stop.
Police said they were on patrol when they spotted a vehicle traveling quickly down Route 38. Police said they had to accelerate above 90 mph for longer than 1 mile to catch the vehicle.
Police said Lary showed signs of impairment and had a blood alcohol content of 0.103%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
Police said they noticed a 15-month-old child in the back seat during the traffic stop. A woman reportedly told police Lary began accelerating when he saw the police cruiser to avoid being pulled over.
Lary’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:40 a.m. June 2 before District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
