Bixler

Richard C. Bixler, of Irwin Township, Harrisville, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Richard was born in Grove City on Jan. 20, 1947, to Warren O. and Dora V. (Johnson) Bixler.

He married Linda C. Beers in 1996, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 2023.

He was a graduate of Victory Joint High School in 1964, and New Castle Business School. Later, he served in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Richard worked at Joy Manufacturing, Franklin, and Rockwell, New Castle, where he was a machinist.

Richard was a member of the Franklin Moose lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars post and the Eagles Club. He was also a member of the American Legion post, Harrisville.

Richard is survived by a son, Richard (Kaylen) Bixler, of Richlands, N.C.; a daughter, Michelle Bixler, of New Bethlehem, Pa.; three grandchildren, Zayden, Landyn and Austyn Bixler; a sister, Lee Garrard, of The Villages, Fla.; and a brother, David (Millie) Bixler, of Enon Valley, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

BIXLER — Visitation hours for Richard C. Bixler, who died Tuesday, May 5, 2026, will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 8, at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Willard Morse officiating. Military honors will follow.

Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
