Grove City Hospital offers robotic-assisted knee and hip surgeries with Mako system
In recent months, Grove City Hospital — part of Allegheny Health Network — has begun offering robotic-assisted knee and hip surgeries, including joint replacements, with the addition of the Mako SmartRobotics surgery system which was introduced in late 2025.
Prior to surgery, the Mako system uses computed tomography technology to create a 3D model of the patient’s joint. The surgeons develop a personalized treatment plan based on this data.
The Mako system is also available at AHN’s Allegheny General, Canonsburg, Forbes, Saint Vincent and West Penn hospitals.
According to a news release from AHN, surgeons at Canonsburg have completed over 1,000 procedures using the Mako system since it was introduced there.
