Sliders earn 8-1 win over Miners

A night after losing 8-1 to West Virginia, the Slippery Rock Sliders returned the favor.

Matt Calhoun went 3-for-4 with a double and relief pitcher Zach Place came out of the pen to strike out seven in three innings as the Sliders rolled to an 8-1 win in Prospect League action Wednesday night.

Leadoff hitter Lance Barkley had a pair of RBI and Gentry Kinsella and Dan Garza each added a pair of hits to lead the 11-hit attack for Slippery Rock.

The Miners committed four errors in the loss.
