Sara McKruit, 73, of Cabot, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 2, 1952, in Kittanning, she was the daughter of Daniel Bowser and Ada Hoak Bowser.

Sara loved her dogs, Maggie and Sandy. She enjoyed playing pickleball at the Kittanning YMCA, playing cards at the Kittanning Senior Center, walking and anything outdoors.

Surviving are her husband, Gary K. McKruit, whom she married Oct. 2, 2001; two daughters, Sonya Elaine Crissman, of McGann, Pa., and April (John) Hockenberry, of Cabot; her siblings, James (Donna) Bowser, of Kittanning, Warren Bowser, of Louisiana, Janet Kaufman, of Cowansville, Dan Bowser, of Kittanning, Gary Bowser, of Hermitage, Pa., Paul L. Bowser, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Lois Smith, of Parkville, Md.; and six grandchildren, Levi, Aleya, Garrett, William, Autumn and Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Alexis Charlene; and two sisters, Mary Ann Bowser and Evelyn Bellas.

MCKRUIT — There will be no visitation or services for Sara McKruit, who died Saturday, May 2, 2026,

Private interment will be in St. Luke Cemetery in Cabot.
