Thomas C. Smith
Thomas C. Smith, 86, of Zelienople died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at his home following a brief illness.
Mr. Smith served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
He worked for Lava Crucible Refractories in Zelienople before retiring in 1986 and at the Butler Auto Auction in Cranberry Township.
He was a member of the Zelienople Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion Post 474. He enjoyed playing golf and watching sports.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Margie (Brandon)Smith, formerly of Connoquenessing; two sons, Gary Smith and his wife, Pam, of Butler and Tom Smith and his wife, Terri, of Zelienople; two grandchildren, Sarah Bell and her husband, Michael, of Butler and Chad Smith and his wife, Carolyn, of Concord, Calif.; two great-grandsons, David Bell and Drake Smith; and a sister, Margaret (Sue) Thurmond of Henderson, Nev.
