Girl, 10, found in Butler apartment on air mattress with cocaine

A 10-year-old girl was found laying on an air mattress with suspected crack cocaine residue when police executed a search warrant Friday, May 1, on a Butler home.

The girl was found in the same residence as Shynnell Isacc Walker, 44, of Williamsport.

Walker was charged Friday, May 1, by state police with one felony count each of child endangerment and possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, two misdemeanor counts of controlled substance possession and one misdemeanor count each of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and drug paraphernalia possession following the incident.

State police, the attorney general’s office and Butler County Drug Task Force executed the search warrant in the 400 block of West North Street. After no acknowledgment, police forcefully entered the residence.

Upon entry, police saw Walker exit an upstairs bedroom holding a white substance and run to a bathroom. Walker successfully flushed the substance down the toilet before being apprehended, police said.

Police said Walker had been staying in the same room as the 10-year-old girl and another woman for about a week and a half. The girl was found on an air mattress in the room Walker had emerged from.

Police said the air mattress also contained about two grams of cocaine.

A bag of suspected marijuana, multiple digital scales and $717 were also found.

Walker’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled. He’s being held in Butler County Prison on a $50,000 bail.
