Holmes

Mark “Pegleg” W. Holmes, 61, of Prospect, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026.

He was born in Butler on June 19, 1964, son of Bertha F. Lawton and the late Wallace H. Holmes. Mark was employed as a truck driver for many years.

He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and making bonfires.

Mark was the beloved husband of Diana (Pfaff) Holmes, whom he married 35 years ago on Oct. 13, 1990; father of Mark Jr., Allyssa and Shannon Holmes and Blake (Ryan) Holmes-Cariglio; brother of Kimberly Beachem, Carol Hines, Shawn Holmes and Melissa Johnson; and grandfather of Gannon Horne, Haevyn Turner, and Waylon, Clyde and Hennessy Grossman. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

HOLMES — Family and friends of Mark “Pegleg” W. Holmes, who died Saturday, April 25, 2026, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
