Kathryn (Alex) Coury
Kathryn (Alex) Coury, 95, formerly of New Kensington, passed away Tuesday in the Fair Winds Manor Nursing Center.
She was born Oct. 14, 1914, in New Kensington, to the late Fred and Sara Shehady Alex.
Kathryn had lived in the New Kensington area all her life.
She was a member of the St. George Orthodox Church in New Kensington, where she also was a past president of the Myrrh Bearing Society.
Kathryn was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, bingo and bowling.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Albert J. Vincler Sr.) of Indiana, Pa.; sons, Daniel Coury of Charleston, S.C., Douglas (Phyllis) Coury of Saxonburg and Dennis (Patricia) Coury of Greensburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Alex of Garden Grove, Calif.; and sisters, Constance Gwilt of Bull Head, Ariz., and Geraldine Christensen of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Coury; a son, Dennis Coury, at infancy; four brothers; and three sisters.
<B>COURY</B> — Private family viewing for Kathryn (Alex) Coury, who died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, will be Friday in the <B>JOHN F. KRUPA FUNERAL HOME</B>, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, Robert Jarosinski supervisor. Officiating will be the Rev. Joel Gilliam. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
