Butler County's great daily newspaper

Now avoiding Main Street

I read with great interest the Oct. 2 editorial concerning the traffic gridlock in downtown Butler. I experience this every day but have now learned to avoid it as well.

My change in direction came about when I left my home on Glenwood Way, just south of the Clearview Mall, at 8:30 a.m. and arrived at my place of employment — Butler County Community College — at 9:10 a.m.

There is no reason why it should have taken me 40 minutes to go a distance that should take only 15 minutes. I can get to Slippery Rock University in a shorter time than it takes me to get to BC3.

I, too, mentioned this to a city official who shall go unnamed, and the reply was, "I am glad to see traffic in downtown Butler."

My response to that is, "No one is stopping ¿ they are doing their best to get through as quickly as possible."

Thanks for the editorial. Maybe someone will listen to those at the Butler Eagle.

City officials surely do not seem to be reading the other letters to the editor.
