Smith

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Chrysten E. Smith, 46, of Butler, who passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, after a brief illness.

Born March 5, 1980, in Pittsburgh, she is the daughter of Donald J. Smith and Bernadette D. Langa, of Butler.

Chrysten was employed at Aldi, Inc., as an inventory account assistant at their Saxonburg location. She was also a Penn State Extension Master Gardener, an avid reader, and she enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Chrysten is survived by her brother, Jason Smith, and his wife, Geri, of Pittsburgh; her nephew, Elliott Smith; her special friend, Matthew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; especially her cousin, Alec Young, with whom she had a special bond.

SMITH — Visitation and burial were private for Chrysten E. Smith, who died Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Contributions in memory of Chrysten may be made to the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of MARTIN FUNERAL HOME SOUTH SIDE, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
