Butler's Codispot, Taoufik win indoors

Butler opened its 2019 indoor track and field season Saturday with a Tri-State Track Coaches Association meet at Edinboro University.

Jack Codispot won the pole vault for the Golden Tornado with a vault of 14 feet, five inches. That ranks fourth in the state in this early season.

Sami Taoufik won the high jump with a leap of six feet.

Anna Ng was sixth in the triple jump at 29-6.75 while Ashlee Wherthey was seventh at 29-1.75.

North Catholic's Dani Short was named Don Graham Classic MVP as the Trojanettes defeated Keystone Oaks, 54-46.Short had 14 points and 10 rebounds. North Catholic won its Don Graham Classic game Saturday, improving to 7-3 on the year with an 87-81 triumph over Our Lady of Sacred Heart.

Elijah White scored 33 points to lead Portersville Christian to a 50-42 basketball win over Iroquois. PCS is 8-4 on the season.
