Lois June (Merritt) Hebert, 89, of Grove City, and formerly of Ellwood City, passed away at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, in Grove City, on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Lois was born in Cranesville, Erie County, Pa., on June 15, 1936, to William Henry Merritt and Ruth Sylvia Leonard Merritt.

Lois retired in 1996 as the accounts payable supervisor at Slippery Rock University.

She loved campground life, wintering in Florida and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons, William Hebert, of Ellwood City, and Mark (Maurie) Hebert, of Pflugerville, Texas; three daughters, Jacqueline Firestone, of Sun City Center, Fla., Patti Thompson, of Ellwood City, and Michelle (Paul Boyer) Hebert, of Ellwood City; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruth Konar and Janet Guterry; brother, William Merritt; and grandson, Nathan McClymonds.

HEBERT — Friends of Lois June (Merritt) Hebert, who died Friday, April 17, 2026, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, where family and friends will share in a celebration of life service beginning at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
