Balanced Freeport blows out Burrell

4 Yellowjackets reach double figures in rout

Sidney Shemanski scored 17 points to lead four Yellowjackets in double figures as the Freeport girls basketball team routed Burrell, 62-29, Thursday night.

Samantha Clark and Madeline Clark each added 12 points and Harley Holloway pitched in 11 for Freeport, which put the game far out of reach by outscoring Burrell 24-3 in the third quarter.

Tess Myers pitched in 14 points and Dani Short 10 for North Catholic, which also got 10 rebounds from Sarah Berardelli.

Swimming

Abby Bielstein won two individual events and was on two relay wins for the Knoch girls in an 81-66 win over Highlands.

The Knights are now 3-3.

The Knoch boys won 47-9 over Highlands, which has just one swimmer, to improve to 4-2.

Knoch will next swim against Butler Monday.

Private Schools

Elijah White scored 28 points to lead the Portersville Christian School boys basketball team to a 45-42 overtime victory over The Neighborhood Academy.

PCS is now 17-7 on the season.
