BUTLER TWP— Butler County Community College will borrow $1.4 million to upgrade technology at the college.

The board of trustees Wednesday approved the resolution to borrow the money from the State Public School Building Authority. The loan will be repaid over five years with an interest rate at 2 percent below prime or at the 5-year Treasury rate, whichever is lower.

The college will use the money for computer equipment, security equipment, professional services and software.
