Frank D. Bagamery
Frank D. Bagamery, 86, of Brighton Township passed away Wednesday in Sewickley Valley Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1921, in Zelienople, a son of Andrew Sr. and Teresa Shomody Bagamery, he was a retired professor of economics at the Community College of Beaver County.
He received his bachelor's degree in economics from Geneva College in 1950 and his master's degree in economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1953. Frank taught from 1964 to 1968 at Bluefield State College, Bluefield, W.Va., and from 1968 to 1997 in the Community College of Beaver County as professor of economics and business.
Frank previously worked in the Bagamery Family Store in Zelienople, which existed from the early 1920s until the 1960s.
He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver, where he was an usher.
A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he served as a communications specialist.
He was a member of the Zelienople American Legion, AARP, the Catholic Golden Age Club, the PSEA, and the NEA. He also was a member of the Hungarian Federation.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Sandra Lynn Belcher Bagamery; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jonathan D. and Angela Bagamery, Freedom and Michael C. Bagamery, Beaver; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Ann and Landon Bagamery-Clark, Nashville, Tenn.; his beloved pet friends, Quincy and Betsy; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Anthony and Mary Ellen Bagamery, Cincinnati, Ohio, Ambrose and Marcia Bagamery, Verona, and Steven Bagamery, Ellwood City, and Ruby Bagamery; and several nieces, nephews and aunts.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and James; and a sister, Teresa.
<B>BAGAMERY</B> — Friends of Frank D. Bagamery, who died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the <B>WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME</B>, 349 Adams St., Rochester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday at the SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver, with Monsignor William Ogrodowski officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.A Christian wake service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.The family asks memorial contributions be made to the Beaver Assembly of God Church Building Fund, Dutch Ridge Road, Beaver, PA 15009.
