Walk focuses on suicide preventionBC3 hosts transfer information session

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Noon Rotary Club will hold a Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk at 8 a.m. May 8 at North Boundary Park on North Boundary Road.

The club chose suicide awareness because it is a problem that needs to more public awareness, Rotarian and race organizer Shavonne Ayres said.

“We have lost many in our area recently to suicide, the majority of which have been high school students,” Ayres said.

The money raised will be donated to local and national organizations that help with suicide awareness and prevention. The goal of the walk is to honor those who have been lost and prevent losing anyone else, she said.

Registration is available online at runsignup.com/Race/PA/CranberryTwp/CranberryNoonRotarySuicidePreventionAndAwarenessWalk. The deadline is May 3.
