Campus defaced over weekend

BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Community College police need help to find out who vandalized the college during the Memorial Day weekend.

A vandal spray-painted signs, construction equipment and a BC3 vehicle, according to college President Nick Neupauer.

Jess Matonak, the interim director of communications and marketing, said the damage on the main campus also included a port-a-potty that was tipped, a hose from the Public Safety Training Facility that was pulled from an exterior wall, and tables and chairs on patio areas that were tipped and thrown.

A residential garage close to the campus also was spray-painted.

Neupauer said the campus police have been reviewing footage from the 30 cameras on campus, and they are working with Butler Township police.

Any individuals who saw suspicious activity on the main campus between 11 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Monday are asked to call the BC3 police, Matonak said.

There is no estimate of the monetary damage yet as it still is being assessed, Matonak said.
