A $10,000 donation from this year’s Miracle on Main Street holiday fundraiser will support expansion and programming at the Zelienople Area Public Library.

The donation, presented March 26 to library Director Cyndi Peluso and her staff, will support the facility’s expansion project scheduled to begin in June and enhance community programming.

Each year, Miracle on Main Street organizers select a local nonprofit to receive the event’s primary proceeds.

Peluso said she and her staff are “over the moon grateful and blessed” to be the 2025 recipients.

“This will help us provide more programs for our community and for our new building,” she said.

The annual holiday event, which includes a parade through Main Street, began in 2016 and has grown into a major community effort. Event Co-chairs Megan Murphy and Eden Watterson credited local businesses and churches for providing food, activities and entertainment.

“Everything is free at Miracle on Main Street. We just wanted people to celebrate,” Murphy said.

In addition to the library donation, the 2025 event provided winter coats for children and food assistance to local families.

Planning for the 2026 event is underway, with Watterson stepping into the role of chair.

“I’m honored to be able to be creative and so grateful for the community who makes this possible,” Watterson said.
