Newell

Ross C. Newell, 38, of Butler passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 24, 1987, in Butler, and was the son of Dennis Newell and Roxann (Howryla) Ochsenhirt.

Ross graduated from Butler High School and then attended Butler County Community College and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Growing up, he played baseball for Center Township. Ross enjoyed spending time outdoors, snowboarding, riding dirt bikes and quads, and hanging out with friends. Playing golf, riding his motorcycle, and driving and working on his cars were his favorite pastimes.

Ross is survived by his parents, Dennis Newell and Roxann (Robert) Ochsenhirt; aunts and uncles, Pam (John) Cajka, Rick (Debbie) Newell, Jonathan Newell and John A. Howryla; and cousins, Kelsie, Tim, Kristen and Kathy. He is also survived by his constant companion, his dog, Riley.

He will forever be loved and missed.

Ross was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Marie Howryla and Bud and Bessie Newell.
