Kuss

Martin J. Kuss, 83, of Mars, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 22, 2026, in the comfort of his home.

Born in Pittsburgh on July 5, 1943, he was the son of Martin J. and Sophie Lucas Kuss.

Martin had been a bus driver for the Port Authority of Pittsburgh.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the North Side Sportsmen’s Club.

Surviving are his daughter, Sandra Lazar, of Mars; his son, James Kuss, of Hudson, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by a sister, Joan Dorsch (George), in Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Caye Kuss, whom he married Nov. 25, 1960, and who died Jan. 15, 2024; by his son, Mark Kuss; and by his sister, Lillian Yodanis.

KUSS — Friends of Martin J. Kuss, who died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Houser, pastor of Mars United Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery, Richland Township.
